See How the Transit Minor Betterments Program is Improving Infrastructure in Your Community

The Transit Minor Betterments (TMB) program is a funding program that provides up to $100,000 for transit-supportive projects such as transit shelters, paving, wayfinding signage or other bus stop improvements.

TMB projects are supported for their alignment with any of the following program objectives:

  • Safety – improves the operational and personal safety of transit for riders, pedestrians, operators and other road users
  • Supporting partners – responsive to local requests for improvements on provincial highways or publicly supported transit and passenger transportation
  • Ridership – increases transit usage and improves the quality of the transit experience
  • Accessibility – enables access to transit for those with mobility challenges
  • Integration – enables smooth connections between transportation modes and service providers
  • Equity and Reconciliation – supports access to public transit for equity-deserving and disadvantaged people, and First Nation communities

During the 2023-24 program intake, TMB supported a number of fantastic projects – check out our before and after photos below!

Other projects supported by TMB in 2023-24 include:

  • Traffic Counter Station installed on Highway 95A in the Rocky Mountain District
  • Electric Bus Procurement Support for Gabriola Community Bus Foundation
