About

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (TranBC) is about moving people and goods safely, and fueling our provincial economy, through transportation networks, transportation services and infrastructure, transportation policies and related acts and regulations.

Our Mission Statement:

  • To create an integrated and safe transportation network that incorporates all modes of transport, reflects regional priorities and provides a strong foundation for economic growth.
  • To maintain and improve the provincial highway system, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods provincially, nationally and internationally.

This website is the home base for TranBC, a place where we can share with you what we do and why we do it. We talk about safety, projects, initiatives, new technologies, environmental issues, interesting facts, commercial vehicles, regulations, BC transit, seasonal tips and tricks and a variety of other transportation-related topics that impact British Columbians. From Atlin to Fernie, Haida Gwaii to McBride, we maintain over 47,000 kilometres of road across this province, so there are a lot of stories to tell and many of you to engage with.
