Projects! Get your fill on the latest projects here! This week, we are focusing on recently completed work in the South Coast Region of the province. Yes, crews have been hard at work to keep our roads safe and sound.
Highway #7 Hatzic Pumps Bridge Deck Replacement
The Hatzic Pumps Bridge, near Mission, underwent our version of an extreme makeover. The old wooden deck of the bridge was resurfaced with concrete, widened to accommodate cyclists and new railings were installed. The abutments (the point of contact between the bridge and the ground) were given a fresh layer of rip rap to help with erosion protection. Hatzic Pumps Bridge, we hardly recognized you!
Highway #4 Redman Road/Whiskey Creek Intersection Improvements
Reaching local businesses on Redman Road at Whiskey Creek just outside of Coombs on Highway 4 just got a lot easier, thanks to recent improvements. Along with drainage upgrades, improved intersection lighting and line markings, Highway 4 was also widened to accommodate a dedicated left turn lane. This new lane will help local traffic access the Whiskey Creek Store and other local businesses, while keeping traffic moving freely as well.
Fraser Valley Enhanced Delineation
It may be a dark and stormy night, but you will be able to see the road in all its glory, thanks to the enhanced reflectors and line markings along Highway 1 between Langley and Hope and of Highway 7 between Hope and Mission.
Featuring inlaid durable, high visibility, wet night reflective lane marking paint and this project also incorporates the use of recessed reflective pavement markers installed along the white edge and yellow median lines. Post mounted, reflective delineation were also installed along the highway shoulders, helping you drive safely, no matter what the west coast wants to throw at you.
