Prepare for the Holiday Season

Every autumn, British Columbia highway conditions start to experience a chilling transition, which usually lasts until at least February. To combat the higher risks of driving through snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures, we encourage travellers to make the Shift into Winter. It’s a shift in the way we prepare our vehicles and behave on the roads. It’s also a shift in the way the ministry manages highway maintenance, from snow plowing to avalanche control.
