2012 marked the 50th Anniversary of one of the most iconic and essential pieces of infrastructure in the country – the Trans-Canada Highway. Winding nearly 8,000 kilometres from coast to coast, the highway connects communities, unites our country and fuels our economy. But this anniversary is about more than just celebrating a birthday. It also represents 50 years of partnership with the federal government, and with Parks Canada (which takes care of the highway through federal parks). In honour of this anniversary, we shared photos and stories to share about the highway. You can check out historical articles, blogs and pictures by clicking on the links above.
