Alice All Done Tunnel Boring for BC’s Evergreen Line

After churning through 2 km of dirt and rocks, “Alice”, the Evergreen Line’s tunnel boring machine, took her last bite out of the tunnel between Port Moody and Coquitlam on November 27, 2015. Who is she? She’s 85 metres long, but with her trailing gear that provides the conveyer belt system, she expands to two kilometres. Her head is 10 metres wide and she weighs 109 tonnes.
