Current Wildfire Advisories

We are currently experiencing wildfires affecting highway travel in British Columbia. There are many fires burning across the province but only those that affect highway travel are listed below.

For further information please also refer to the EmergencyInfoBC map. This map serves as a general reference for current public safety conditions during emergencies.

PLEASE NOTE: Should there be any discrepancies between this information and DriveBC, DriveBC is the authority.

Clinton / 100 Mile House Area

  • Highway 97 re-opened with heavy smoke – 5 km south of 100 mile House to 7 km north of Clinton
  • CAUTION – this could close again at any time
  • Watch for traffic control and speed reductions
  • 83 Mile Road – CLOSED between Highway 97 and Railway Crossing

Lytton (Lytton Creek fires)

  • Highway 1 is OPEN from north of Lytton to Spences Bridge
  • Watch for traffic control
Ashcroft / Walhachin Area (Tremont Creek fire)

  • The following roads are CLOSED
    • Anglesey Ranch Road,
    • Barclay Road, Bass St,
    • Central Ave,
    • Collins St,
    • Evans Road,
    • Newbold Road,
    • Railroad Ave,
    • Thompson Cres,
    • Walhachin Road,
    • Walhachin Station Road
    • Wilkinson St.
  • Please follow directions from the Thompson Nicola Regional District
  • Please follow DriveBC and EmergencyInfoBC.

Spences Bridge to Canford (Lytton fire)

  • Highway 8 from Spences Br (Jct with Hwy 1) to 17 km west of Merritt – CLOSED

Ashcroft (Tremont Creek Fire)

  • 97C – OPEN with heavy smoke  – caution advised
  • Barnes Lake Road and many other back and side roads – CLOSED

Kamloops (Sparks Lake fires)

  • Tranquille Criss Creek Road – CLOSED
  • Deadman Vidette Road – CLOSED
  • Sabiston Creek Road – CLOSED
  • Eagan Lake Road – CLOSED

Westwold, Kelowna / Westside  (White Rock Lake fire)

  • Douglas Lake Road CLOSED to public traffic
  • Westside Road CLOSED to inbound traffic – Six Mile Creek Rd and Pinecrest Rd

 Sicamous, North Okanagan (Sicamous MVI fire)

  • Highway 97A,  CLOSED 5km north of Enderby to Sicamous
  • Be aware there may be heavy traffic on the 97B diversion.

Osoyoos, South Okanagan (Inkaneep/Nk’Mip fire)

Many side and back roads are closed – 45 at last count

Highway 6 near Slocan (Trozzo Creek fire)

  • Now OPEN to both lanes of traffic with evacuation order downsized from Trozzo Creek wildfire
  • several side roads in this area are CLOSED – please consult DriveBC

Needles Ferry / Fauquier (Octopus Creek fire, Trozzo Creek Fire)

  • Needles Ferry – OPEN
  • Hwy 6 east of Needles Ferry open for through traffic only – with pilot car
  • CLOSED: Applegrove Road, Spruce Street, Oak Street, Fauquier Lower Road, Starlite Road, Roder Road, Brydges Road


  • Toby Creek Rd  – CLOSED 3 to 4 km west of Panorama Mountain Resort
